"Leisure and Amish are words rarely heard in the same sentence. The Amish are one of the hardest working people to ever walk the earth. They prefer not to be photographed, especially in their homes or on their farms. At the Middlefield Swiss Cheese Festival in Geauga County, Ohio the Amish do engage in leisure. Being a public festival, an unobtrusive photographer can obtain candid images, even with the large 2-3/4x 3-1/4 Crown Graphic camera I used. Negatives of this size make good enlargements on conventional photographic paper and can even be contact printed on Palladium and platinum paper..."
